What is a Christingle?

Here are videos for Key stage 1 and Key Stage 2, explaining what a Christingle is and how to make one. Please remember the 8 Golden Rules when making your own Christingle.

  • Wash your hands before handling the fruit and sweets (dried fruit), and keep to Government guidelines.

  • Make sure you have an adult's permission to light your candle.

  • Make sure long hair is tied back (Keep hand sanitiser away from lit candles).

  • Make sure you have an adult around when using cocktail sticks and candles.

  • Keep loose fabrics (eg scarves) away from lit candles.

  • Don't move around with a lit Christingle.

  • Always place your Christingle where you can see it and make sure it can't fall over.

  • Never leave a lit Christingle unattended.
